4 days - Lodge
based (3 nights) all-inclusive:
Wilderness nature walks and teachings with a native
American elder
A unique wilderness immersion weekend based on
traditional native teachings where adventure will take on many new and exciting
dimensions-physical, mental, and emotional. First, you will have the opportunity
to build and develop a strong connection with the earth and natural world on a
nature walk that allows you to relax and have fun in the remote wilderness. Your adventure then continues with a native elder who guides us in
a traditional healing and purification lodge, one of the oldest tools used by
members of first nations to reconnect with their place and path in the world. There is much that
nature gives us and much we have forgotten about it; this package reconnects the
bond between the earth and the human spirit, instilling you with renewed
endeavour, the melody of ancient songs of the land, and a mental clearing to
turn your dreams into reality. The adjacent tipi / teepee village is a focal point on
this experience.
You can combine this with a variety of other
experiences available locally or elsewhere across Canada.
Itinerary
Day 1
(Friday): Your arrival to our mountain retreat. A hot evening meal will be
served over some friendly introductions, followed by a campfire with stories and
music before settling in to a relaxing night at the cabins.
Day 2 Bright
and early, we gather for a Sun Rising/Thanksgiving ceremony and breakfast.
We then set out for a walk through a pristine area, which is away from
the main trails. This will be an informative and interpretive walk with purpose,
awareness, and respect for all our relations and Mother Earth. After an
afternoon around the tipi / teepee village learning some traditional wilderness skills,
we will conclude our evening with a Council Fire ceremony and a chance to share
music, stories, and teachings based on first nation traditions.
Day 3
Another morning ceremony, and then preparation for a traditional healing and
purification lodge with the elder in the afternoon. This is followed by a
delicious home-cooked feast and some time to take it all in.
Day 4 (Monday): After a morning
ceremony, more opportunity to socialize with each other and the native elder,
and one last breakfast and lunch together, we part ways until next time.
