The forests of northern India are home to more than 330 species of mammals, over 1,500 species and subspecies of birds and over 750 species of amphibians, reptiles and fish, and at least 49,800 known species of insects. Tigers and elephants are what we hope to see, but tigers usually see you before you get to see them.

Corbett National Park

The Corbett National Park has earned itself the distinction of being India's first National Park. There is no doubt that this area is one of India's most picturesque and best-known National Parks. The park is set in the beautiful undulating Shivalik foothills of the Himalayas in Uttar Pradesh with the placid Ramganga River flowing through most parts of the region. Being just five hours drive from New Delhi, it is easily accessible and compliments the famous Golden Triangle of Delhi-Jaipur-Agra.

Kanha National Park

Kanha, lies in the Naikhal hills in between the Vindhya and Satpura ranges, in the heart of the region immortalised by Rudyard Kipling. Due to its dense forests it has few rivals in richness and variety of flora and fauna. The star attraction is the bird life, it is simply outstanding, the park is also noted for the swamp deer, the gaur (Indian bison) and the savage dhole (wild dog).

Ranthambhor National Park

The Ranthambhor National Park is one of the most picturesque game reserves in the world, the forest encompasses a large area in eastern Rajasthan. The biggest attraction apart from tigers, are the panthers, hyena, jackal, jungle cat, marsh crocodiles, wild boar, bears and various species of deer.
