The NKF Football Challenge 2001

Some of the best Nepali football talent was at Cintra Park in Reading on Sunday the 1st July for the first of the NKF Challenge Competitions. The winning team was lead by one of our trustees so it may be the last such competition.

Would you have been able to say NO to this man when he said "I need to win this competition".

And here he is with the rest of the team.

Ganesh Lama (2nd from the rt, back row) was the "Player of the Competition" and here he is in action, scoring from a header.

Team Tamu Dhe were the runners up and all agreed that the level of skill from the two finalist teams in particular was top notch. They too needed to win as evidenced by their captains face.

The next challenge is a Snooker Match, look out for more details about this.

Thanks to all involved in organising and helping with the Football Challenge, especially Gita, who worked long and hard before and on the day, Resam and the team of co-ordinators, linesmen and umpires, plus all the injured who made my day quite busy with the first aid. A big thanks to everyone who turned up to play and watch. Keep practicing, next years Football Challenge will be even better. Mo
