Muir's Tours - Peru |
Peru is one of the most popular countries for international adventure travellers. Trekking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is the most popular activity, but there is a wealth of other things to do and places to see.
We offer Trekking, Biking, Horse Riding, Sightseeing, Skiing and Climbing. See the selection below, but please ask about other trips.
Teaching in Peru
A month or more in the Cuzco area teaching English to local children and / or adults, plus a trek to Machu Picchu.
The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
A 12 day itinerary that includes plenty of time to explore Cusco, the one time Inca capital, plus 4 days on the trail.
The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu Plus Lake Titicaca
A 14 day itinerary that includes plenty of time to explore Cusco, the one time Inca capital, plus 4 days on the trail. For the less active traveller there is an alternative of a bus ride most of the way through the Urubamba valley and then a bus ride up the hill to Machu Picchu. The last section of this trip is spent in the Lake Titicaca area, which is rich in culture as well as being very scenic.
The Manu Biosphere reserve contains many rare and fascinating species of flora and fauna that humans have already eliminated from most parts of the Amazon Basin and the surrounding mountains. The species include the extremely rare Black caiman and giant river otter, as well the Jaguar, tapir, spider monkey, woolly monkey and seven species of Macaws. It is the only park in the world with over 1,000 species of bird and it probably has the highest bio-diversity of any natioanl park in the world.
Visas
A visa is not required for passport holders of most First World
