Muir's Tours - Mtn Biking - Garhwal Himalaya

Mountain Biking the Himalaya Foothills

Bike through the dramatic hills, valleys and on the ridges of the Garhwal Himalaya. Regarded by many as one of the most beautiful areas in the Himalaya. There are wonderful views of the nearby 7000 + metre snow clad peaks. Meet fascinating sadhus (Hindu holy men) along their way on religious pilgrimages.

Join in Delhi, a city of contrasts: the old forts, mosques and bazaars and the new, elegant avenues, stately homes and landscaped gardens. Garhwal, is the Dev Bhoomi (Land of Gods) steeped in legend and an ancient place for spiritual fulfilment.

From the popular hill station of Mussoorie, we cycle along a ridge with breathtaking panoramic views of the Greater Himalaya ranges to Dhanolti. We pass enchanting villages, terraced farmlands, and gurgling brooks to arrive at Guptakashi, a quaint little town mentioned in the Indian epic, Mahabharata. We then go through the highlands of Chopta in the Kedarnath musk deer sanctuary and head through the jungle on route to Rishikesh and Hardwar, the renowned centres of Hindu spiritualism.
