Summer Sailing and Kayaking Summary

Sailing in Prince William Sound and surrounding area, these are tailor made trips just the way you want. If you want sailing lessons, the skipper will be happy to give free instruction. If you are an experienced sailor and would like to steer or help with the sailing, please let the skipper know and he'll give you the opportunity. If you just want to relax and leave the sailing to the skipper, that's fine too, it is your holiday.

If you want to learn or practice your sailing skills, let us know. The skipper has taught many people to sail. The boat has radar and GPS, if you would like to do some instrument work. The aft cabin, which contains the navigational instruments, is the skipper's cabin. Across from this cabin is the galley; forward of the galley and aft cabin is the salon. This provides 2 single berths, 6' 2" long. Forward of the salon is the marine head (bathroom with shower). The forepeak has a double berth, 6' 6". We provide sleeping bags, sheets, pillows, small towels and wash clothes.

Customisable, 3 Day Combined Sailing & Kayaking - Ref: AWTM

Although we will help you design your own trip, our most popular trip combines
several hours of sailing a day with time to kayak, walk and watch wildlife. The following is our most popular itinerary. However, we also do trips with more sailing and less time spent at anchor or kayaking. Just let us know your preferences.

Day 1: Afternoon sail to Jade Harbour; explore area by sea kayak.
Day 2: 1 hour sea kayak to east side of Columbia Glacier, 2 short walks (one in a forest to a lake; one across the old moraine to a view of Columbia Glacier), sail to Long Bay or Eckleberg.
Day 3: Explore Long or Eckleberg Bays - you have an excellent chance of seeing numerous bald eagles, sea otter mothers & pups, and possibly black bears feeding on salmon (late July & August). Return to camp by 4 pm to catch boat back to Valdez that evening or anchor at Growler Bay and return to camp the next morning to catch boat back to Whittier.

Price Indication per person GB£ / US$: £156 / $250 per day, 2 - 4 people.
