Imagine the scene, verdant vegetation
providing the backdrop to a delightful white sand tropical beach - beaches do
not get any better than this. In the lush vegetation there lies a diverse
population of exotic birds amid fragrant flowers, the frangipanis in burgundy
and pink are outstanding.
The islands are well known for beach tourism and we can offer a variety of
hotels and resorts, but we also offer options to enjoy water sports and to take
part in ecotourism, whereby you watch the wildlife at the same time as
benefiting the area in general.

Diving
The Indian Ocean offers some of the best diving areas to be found anywhere, and
amongst the best are a number of locations in the many islands which make up the
Seychelles. For example off Desroches, there is a great wall dive at what is
known as Desroches Drop.
Birdlife & Ecotourism
Cousin Island is home to a reserve which has been described as "a model in sound
ecotourism practices where conservation measures have assisted in bringing back
species on the verge of extinction". The island lies about 2km away from Praslin
Island. The birdlife and turtles are the big attractions, in particular the
seychelles warbler and the seychelles magpie-robin.
On Silhouette island The Nature Protection Trust of the Seychelles encourages sensitive ecotourism in appropriate environments and they provide guided walks into the mountain rainforest to ensure that they fully appreciate the experience and that disturbance to the environment is kept to a minimum. The NPTS also has projects elsewhere in the islands, some of the other high profile projects are the Roche Caiman Bird Sanctuary on Mahé and the Seychelles Terrapin Research Project and the Giant Tortoise Conservation Project.
