Hudson Bay, Canada - polar bear Observation

Every October and November along the west shore of Hudson Bay, scores of polar bears gather and wait for the bay to freeze. They wait patiently to begin the annual hunt for their choice prey, seals.

The polar bear is normally a solitary creature, so this is one of natures extraordinary events,
an opportunity to observe these remarkable creatures close up and in safety.

We probably offer more tours to see the polar bears than any other company. There are over 60 different options to choose from, ranging from two nights in Churchill with two days on the tundra viewing the bears, to the ultimate bear experience: nine nights in the Tundra Buggy Lodge at Cape Churchill where you "sleep with the bears", observing them 24-hours a day.

The roving Tundra Buggies use all-wheel drive and roll gently along on huge rubber tyres (almost six feet tall and four feet wide). They are equipped with two way radios, heaters and a toilet. The windows open along each seat and an open rear deck allows for easy photography and viewing.

The Gorillas of Central Africa

The need to protect the majestic mountain gorillas in Central Africa is greater than ever as their habitat shrinks. This is the rarest and most precious experience you could ever have - sitting nearby these magical creatures you cannot fail to be captivated. Giant males lumber through the mountain forest, females observe us with tentative caution, and young babies roll and play, often coming within close range. Not only is this a chance for you to observe one of the world's most endearing animals, it is an opportunity to play an important role in the battle to ensure their future.

Ecuador - The Galapagos Islands

This is an area of outstanding natural beauty and special interest. and the area is the natural habitat of an unusially diverse range of creatures for example you can see penquins (January to March) and flamingos in the same day. Other popular creatures are sea lions, giant Galapagos tortoises, turtles and marine iguanas, plus the visitors - whales, dolpins and sharks.

The bird life is perhaps the best known of all the creatures, with a large range of various finches and boobies, plus frigate birds, swallow-tailed gulls, lava gulls, doves and the galapagos hawk, to mention just a sample.

Access to the islands is via Ecuador and there are many additional experiences you can add into your schedule, such as a visit to the Amazon jungle, or a trip to see the peaks of the Andes and Inca ruins, or maybe a stay with jungle dwellers, living almost as they do.
